Chanel Les Beiges 2019 Les Indispensables palette

Where do i start?

This palette has been highly anticipated by the beauty community for a while before it officially launched in the end of April. It boasts to be the best neutral browns palette of the year. And i am a brown bronzy look lover.

The palette costs RM364 and is the most pricey palette i own to date.

Am i happy with it? Yes. Is it my ride or die, one and only palette, can't live with out it kinda palette...urm to be honest no. But no regrets.

The palette comes in a typical les beiges cream colored casing with a black colored CC.  The palette is mostly cool neutral browns and greyish taupe. The light colors are beautiful shimmers with no glitter particles seen. Then only thing i wish is that they had added a creamy matte cream shade for laying the base or highlighting the brow bone or to soften the browns and 1 warmish mid toned brown.

The browns are super pigmented. No kick up what so ever. In fact some of the shades even feel gel like. The staying power of these shadows are superb with or without eyeshadow primer.

Overall, i am happy with this palette. Can't wait to see what Chanel has to offer for Les Beiges 2020 next year. Well done Chanel for this launch. It tuly is special.

Could this be a dupe for the Chanel Legerete Et Experience Palette?

I've been playing around with my eyeshadow collection and identifying what i reach for the most and i came across how similar some of my Korean individual eyeshadow shades are to my Chanel palette.

Everytime i used the BBIA shadows, i find i tend to create the same if not similar looks i achieved with the Chanel one. Then i got the idea to swatch them side by side. Of course i didnt have the peachy shade on the top left of the palette but usually i hardly use that one on its own. Rather  i would mix the two top colors to create a more subtle creamy peach.

Texture wise, this Chanel palette is super creamy buttery matte and pigmented. As for the BBIA individual shadow  they are more of a slight sateen leaning towards matte and are also super creamy buttery but slightly less pigmented (which is not always bad).

The BBIA shadows i bought from an online store called sky007malaysia. The makeup is almost always on discount which is awesome. Originally priced at RM22.90  i bought them for RM17.70 each after discount. What a bargain. Not only is it a bargain, i get to pick and choose the shades i like.

As for the Chanel palette  it was limited edition and i'm not too sure if its still available. It was priced at RM245. If in any case you missed the boat  fret not. Get the BBIA shadows instead.

Till next time. Toodles and much love ❤

Sephora Collection Midnight Wishes 16 eyeshadow palette 2018

How's your holiday shopping going? Mine has burst its limit with holiday sales and black friday sales. Its crazy! Offers are everywhere..only thing is that unfortunately, i have a limit. Haha. Boohoo

Seeing as i had a Sephora discount card of rm25 off on the Sephora collection i decided to place an order on this palette and the Sephora Glow foundation which i have not had much luck with the wear time of this. But any who, lets leave that for another blog post.

This palette is not a bad palette at all. It would be great for beginners and for those who want a simple no fuss not too pigmented palette for daily use. I for one am quite enjoying it. The shimmers are oh so pretty.  The matte are to my surprise pretty decent and have good color payoff. It may not swatch the best, but with brushesand fingers, the colors work well together and are easy to blend.

The only draw back arr the three last colors which are patchy and dont have a ton of pigment. Other than that, i'm ok with this purchase. At Rm100 though, i wished that they cut this price down a notch. For those eyeing this palette, maybe get this during the sale if its still available.

3CE Eyeshadow Palette - Plot Twist

Been google-ing some top Korean brand eyeshadows of late. I came across Heimish dailism palettes that come in coral, brick and a few others. Laneige quads were the first Korean eyeshadows i bought. I have two and to tell you the truth, the quality of both are not the same. But i will save that for another post.

Today, i received my order for the 3CE eyeshadow palette. Yippie. Its a nine pan eyeshadow palette focusing mainly on warm browny tones with shimmer glittery amd matte finishes.

As you can see from the photos, the top right shade and the bottom left shade looks very different in the pan, but when swatched, they look very similar. Which i wish they weren't. Would have loved the top right shade to be true to the color i the pan. The mattes are very pigmented and buttery which i find very surprising for a Korean brand eyeshadow.

As for the bottom right shade, i find it somewhat like the ones in Too Faced palettes where its a matte but with glitter particles which don't really stick to the lids and therefore makes me wonder why even bother adding the glitter if it is just going to be swept away upon application?

This particular palette is priced at RM175 which is a bit up there when it comes to Korean brands. But its justified with the beautiful shimmer glittery shades as well as the pigmented buttery mattes. Would love to see what the palette "overtake" is like. That one seems to have more variety to the color combination.

Overall i am pleased and this palette definitely needs more wear and play.  Would i purchase more korean brand makeup? Sure thing!

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Legerete Et Experience

2018 is nearing its end. With just 2 months to go before new year. Usually, holiday sets and limited edition items come out in November, but somehow i feel that companies are putting out these items quicker than usual.

Got a heads up from my good friend Miko at Chanel Sunway Pyramid about the 2018 holiday collections. As i scrolled down the pictures she sent me, my heart immediately skipped a beat when i saw this beautiful palette. I have always wanted to get the Candeur et experience which has 3 browns and a red. Also was intrigued by this years fall quad which is the Clair obscur but didnt feel the urgency to get it in the end. But this palette right here is something else.

To be honest, before i actually saw it in person, i had assumed that it was not going to be very pigmented and hard to work with.  Even swatching it on the back of my hand does not give it justice as to how it performs on the eyes. The quad was superb on the eyes! Not only were the colors pigmented, but the combination of all 4 colors i could get away with without it looking muddy. In fact the peachy hues make it so wearable and youthful. I could still create a vampy look with the colors. And looking at the particular red, its really a beautiful brick red which i find very popular amongst brands this year especially in Korean beauty.

Anyway, this is my first Chanel quad ever and no regrets. Hope you enjoy the pictures and if its available, do grab one. Its a great addition to any makeup collectors ever growing collection with the rare red colored CC's on the casing. The box itself is something i wouldnt want to throw away.

Its priced at RM245 at all Chanel counters and stores in Malaysia.
