Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation Hydration and Longwear BD11

Latest 2020 Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation Hydration and Longwear has been released. Out of all foundation releases, this one i was most excited about. Seeing as i have the other version, the original healthy glow foundation in the frosted glass bottle. That one, on dry skin days is a bit finicky and sits on the skin a bit. But i do love that on oilier skin days as it doesnt make me oily and stays well. But the shade range in the original healthy glow foundation is a little off. I wore it in B20 and B10. I couldnt get my right shade as they were both neutral pinky based. But with the arrival of the new range, it has yellow undertone. Hip hip horray!

What i can say is that, this one is a winner. It has light medium coverage which i prefer. The texture is thin but not runny. It has the classic Chanel foundation smell to it  which to be honest i also love. This time around, its not a frosted glass but a clear one just like their new 2020 highlighting fluid whih i have in Pearly Glow. Oh by the way, the lid has a beiges top with black CC's which is a LOVE. In general, i truely love the Les Beiges collection every year and so far without fail, i will get at least one item from the collection. But for 2020 despite it not being the best year so far, i went and got the highlighting fluid and now this new foundation from the range.

I bought it for RM225 which is pretty standard for Chanel foundations. The Eau de Teint water fresh is more expensive at RM264 which comes with a brush. I was matched to B10 and BD11. I could go either way. But according to Zan my Beauty Assistant, B10 ran a bit pink. And i really liked the match BD11. It was not too olivey yellow and not sallow and blended well with my skintone. In fact i think it was the best match so far in the Chanel foundation family. I have tried most and i think this one is THE one.

So far, it lasts pretty long, doesnt settle in dry spots, actually looks like skin, doesnt get oily on me. Pretty good staying power for something that claims to be hydrating. The best part is that its hydrating and longwearing at once without it being cakey and thick in texture. I think this foundation is going to be liked by many.

Left 2 is the healthy glow 2020 and the far right is the older frosted glass one😅

Chanel Les Beiges 2019 Les Indispensables palette

Where do i start?

This palette has been highly anticipated by the beauty community for a while before it officially launched in the end of April. It boasts to be the best neutral browns palette of the year. And i am a brown bronzy look lover.

The palette costs RM364 and is the most pricey palette i own to date.

Am i happy with it? Yes. Is it my ride or die, one and only palette, can't live with out it kinda palette...urm to be honest no. But no regrets.

The palette comes in a typical les beiges cream colored casing with a black colored CC.  The palette is mostly cool neutral browns and greyish taupe. The light colors are beautiful shimmers with no glitter particles seen. Then only thing i wish is that they had added a creamy matte cream shade for laying the base or highlighting the brow bone or to soften the browns and 1 warmish mid toned brown.

The browns are super pigmented. No kick up what so ever. In fact some of the shades even feel gel like. The staying power of these shadows are superb with or without eyeshadow primer.

Overall, i am happy with this palette. Can't wait to see what Chanel has to offer for Les Beiges 2020 next year. Well done Chanel for this launch. It tuly is special.

CHANEL Les beiges Sheer Healthy Glow Tinted Moisturiser in Light -Review and Swatches

Oh my gosh. How exciting is the Les Beiges Collection 2018? I've been waiting for this since last years Les Beiges collection which i got myself the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation. I totally loved it and finished the whole bottle! I wanted to get another but was surprised that Chanel came up with another wonderful base for this particular collection. As usual, I got some samples from Miko of Chanel Sunway Pyramid and guess I'll be paying her a visit pretty soon.  As this brand spanking new base is the bomb!

What it claims:
A feather-light fluid that enhances the complexion with a sheer an a luminous healthy glow. Enriched with a hyaluronic acid derivative and kalanchoe extract, its non-occlusive formula moisturizes your skin all day long and protects it against environmental stress. Your complexion radiates the luminosity and freshness of the great outdoors.

Here i have the sample sachet of the new tinted moisturizer next to my vitalumiere aqua. The sample sachet is in light and the vitalumiere aqua is in shade 10 beige.

If i am not mistaken, the two share the same sized squeeze bottle.

Here is the tinted moisturizer in action.

Top is the vitalumiere aqua in 10 beige
Bottom is the tinted moisturizer in Light

Here is the line up:
1)Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua 10 Beige
2)guerlain Aqua Nude 1W1
3)By Terry Sheer Expert: 3 Cream Beige
4)Laura Mercier Candleglow in Ivory
Chanel Les Beige Tinted Moisturizer in Light

Laura Mercier is significantly darker and golden. I usually use it as a mixer for my lighter shade foundations and foundations that are thicker and heavier in texture.

My thoughts on the new Chanel Les Beiges Tinted Moisturizer:

Color-wise: it comes in 3 shades in Malaysia which are light, light-medium and medium. But if i am not mistaken, they have darker shades overseas. As someone who can use the usual 010 and 020 shades, Light in the tinted moisturizer is a good in between shade in my opinion. It does not oxidize on my oily combination skin at all and remains true to its color till the end of the day.

Texture: This one is an interesting one. as i swatched the other foundations which i chose only the light-medium coverage foundations..i find that the heaviest texture to be the Vitalumiere Aqua! Surprising isn't it?  and the lightest is the new Les Beiges tinted moisturizer. It truly has a texture of a light moisturizer which somehow does not feel siliconey but somehow feels a bit oily. Its very light in texture. It spreads really well and surprisingly does not streak for how light it is.

Finish: The finish is definitely soft sheeny glowy skin. I as always must set any base product with my Chanel loose powder. and even after i set it with powder it is almost undetectable by the eye. Its so fine and smooth that it does not act as a regular foundation, yet the coverage is way more than your typical tinted moisturizer. I have put it to the test for a whole days wear which to me is about 8 hours (with cooking and cleaning and caring for 4 kids), and what i can say is that it has worn really well despite its claim for glowy tint finish. It did not crease whatsoever in my smile lines and almost all foundations crease there on me. i did not get oily on my forehead and cheeks which is so surprising for me. the only draw back on this is that it got a little dewy on my nose. but i did try to reapply on the nose and all was good. I cant say it is transfer proof but what i can say is that if you dont go rubbing or touching your face, its not going anywhere because it didn't even melt or move in this hot and humid Malaysian weather. I guess it is really a good base for the Les Beiges collection as this collection is usually released during Summer. well done Chanel!

Scent: This has a slight typical Chanel foundation scent but not as strong as the rest. Its pretty mild and dissipates after application.

Application: i literally slapped this on with my fingers and it was not streaky at all. it literally melts into the skin as would a moisturizer.

Final Verdict:
10/10 !!! bravo! I really like this new Les Beiges Healthy Glow Tinted Moisturizer just as i loved the Healthy Glow Foundation from last year. Its a real game changer and i think many are switching from heavy foundations to a more natural wearable finish. and it really is fuss free. Loos like i'm going to have to head on to the Chanel store pretty soon. Thanks for dropping by to read. Lots of love!

Current Favourite Foundation Routine.

So sorry for not updating this blog often enough. Its been a hectic few months and didn't have the time to play around with much makeup. Never the less, I'm back with a vengeance! Lets cut the chitty chatty short and get straight to the point. I have three favorite combinations to share.

These past few months, I've been reaching more and more for my trusty Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation SPF 25/PA++ paired with the Chanel Natural Finish Loose Powder. The foundation is in No.20 while the loose powder is in 20 Clair - Translucent 1. I find that these two work the best together and they last the whole day with minimal blotting and touch ups. My foundation still looks good by the end of the day. In humid hot sticky Malaysian weather, that says a lot. This foundation gives me light to medium coverage and makes my skin look amazing. Doesn't look cakey in anyway even though I'm the type who piles on the loose powder. You see, the foundation doesn't act like a traditional foundation. Rather, it acts more like a BB or CC cream. In fact, I like it better than Chanel's CC cream which i have it in both old and new versions.

Another combination that I'm drawn towards are my Guerlain Super Aqua BB cream in Light and the same Chanel Loose powder. This is especially for days that I'm not going out for long and just need minimal coverage to look decent and put together. What I like most about the GSABB is that it is 80% skincare benefits and 20 % makeup. I don't use a primer beforehand as i feel that it defeat the purpose of purchasing it for its skincare benefits. This BB cream does not last particularly long on my combination skin. What i do like about it is that it doesn't go all oily on me but fades out evenly at the end of the day without looking cakey and patchy. I do though have to set it with loose powder as my skin would look horrendously shiny. I love the color too as it it doesn't lean too yellow nor pink. Just right i guess.

The third latest combination favorite would be the Sephora Teint Infusion Ethereal Natural Finish Foundation in 20 Cream paired with NARS Loose powder in Eden. OMG! What can I say? This combination is heavenly! The texture of the foundation is super watery borderline oily feeling. But this really smooths out my skin, feel so light i forget I'm wearing foundation and it never gets cakey. BUT.... It has to be paired with the NARS loose powder to achieve the holy grail status. If I had paired it with the Chanel Loose Powder, it would not achieve the same effect. With the NARS loose powder, pores look minimized, my skin doesn't get oily as fast, evens out the skin tone, and adds some coverage. What can I say? I'm in LOVE!

There you go! Those are my current faves. They work the best for me. But as usual I'm always out and about trying new makeup stuff. In a few months or maybe even weeks, this may change up. so keep tuned. Lots of LOVE..Chepah.

CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation SPF25/PA++

Good morning lovelies! Rise and shine.. what a lovely day to review a new Chanel foundation, The latest addition to the Les Beiges family. The ever so famous Les Beiges yearly collections are something to keep an eye out for. Usually the collection consists of lip gloss, some les beiges limited addition specialty powders and some color sticks for cheeks and nail polish. This year, they came out with a foundation. Something that is similar to their famous les beiges fluid, but with more coverage and wider color range. But still not wide enough i think.

Here is a sample of the Les Beiges Healthy Glow foundation. I was given the shade No.20 as that was the only sample color available in Malaysia as i was told by the SA. Even though the samples only come in no.20, you can go in stores to get youself color matched as i was informed by the lovely SA Miko that the range comes in 9 different colors!

The ingredients on the back of the sample sachet is pretty extensive. Mind you, the foundation has SPF25 which is really never enough in this hot humid Malaysian weather. You should always put on a separate sunscreen beforehand. I forgot to mention, I got an email from Chanel Malaysia to redeem my sample kit from the nearest Chanel counter and my favourite counter happens to be at Chanel stand alone store at Sunway Pyramid. I have always found the service there to be tip top and the
SA there namely Miko, Genie and Gabby are always happy to entertain even with my kids running around here and there.

This a tiny squeeze of the sachet and the left side is more of a swatch lightly blended out. As you can see, no.20 Les Beiges healthy Glow foundation comes off slightly pink undertoned. The coverage is pretty opaque but is not considered full coverage to me. I think its more of a light to medium coverage at best.

From top to bottom; 1)Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet B10, 2) Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation No.20, 3) Chanel CC cream SPF30 B20, 4) Chanel Vitalumiere Hydra Moist Radiance Emulsion Compact SPF15/PA++ 20 beige

My Experience:
I put on the foundation at 10.00am with fingers. Upon application, my skin felt smooth and surprisingly my skin felt firm. It didn't feel heavy even though the foundation had a creamy texture leaning on the thicker side. Off the bat...color match was ok i guess. i would have loved for a yellow undertone but unfortunately this foundation in no.20 comes off slightly pink under toned. One thing i must say is that it does nothing for my pores. I suggest you use a pore filler for those who have larger pores. As for dry flaky bits on my nose (acne clearing up)..what can i say..it remained flaky looking. it didn't mask it or enhance it, which was a good thing. Upon application, i set it with my by Terry Hyaluronic Hydra powder in patting motions. I didnt put on a primer but i did use my Shiseido sunscreen.

3.00pm update (5 hours in):
There was a little shine on my forehead, tip of my nose and chin as well as my cheek area...more like a glow at this stage. Nothing too drastic. My face didn't feel oily to the touch. As for the coverage, everything remained the same and no caking up of the foundation on my trouble spots like around my nose. There were no additional creasing around my eye area or smile lines, but it did bunch up a little on areas where my glasses sit on the bridge of my nose. Blush was still there and didnt become patchy.

Verdict:
At the end of the day not much difference. Looks like a good skin day and not caked up foundation. So far, I'm loving the texture of my skin with this foundation on. Would love to purchase a full size bottle soon. If you're wondering, I have combination oily skin with some dryness and this foundation faired pretty well. All in all, I'm a happy camper ;)

*Currently available at all Chanel counters and stores. Price: RM200. Pretty reasonable as i see my samples lasting me awhile.
